Clinton’s Rhylee Rodebush – Basketball Spotlight – Presented by Lily + Rose

“Having a positive mindset around teammates changes the game.” For Rhylee Rodebush, a multi-sport athlete at Clinton High School, this approach extends beyond the basketball court and into every sport she plays. As a ninth-grade standout, Rhylee balances roles as a catcher in softball, a center in basketball, and a thrower in shot put and discus for track. It’s clear that her passion for sports and her commitment to positivity set her apart.

Rhylee credits her success to more than just talent: “Showing up and putting the extra work in for it” has been essential to her growth. She also emphasized the importance of attitude, saying, “Having a good attitude no matter who you’re with and having positive teammates” has been key to building meaningful connections and achieving her goals.

Family plays a major role in her motivation. “My dad always pushes me to be the best I can be in everything I do,” she shared. With that kind of encouragement, Rhylee has developed a drive not only to excel but also to be an inspiring example for others. She wants to be “the type of player people want to come and watch” and hopes to serve as a role model for “the younger tornadoes” coming up after her.

Rhylee’s highlight moment so far came on the softball field: “Hitting two home runs in my two varsity high school games” is a memory that stands out. But her athletic journey doesn’t end there. Outside of sports, Rhylee is active in Key Club and FCA, showing that her leadership extends to other areas of campus life.

One teacher, in particular, has made a lasting impact. “Nathan Meget, our superintendent, always made me feel like I could do anything, whether that was sports or school,” she reflected. That encouragement fuels her ambition to continue her athletic career beyond high school: “I would love to pursue sports in college.”

As she steps onto the basketball court this season, Rhylee knows that representing Clinton High School is about more than just playing the game. “Having a good attitude and being an inspiring player” is at the heart of everything she does. With her positive outlook and strong work ethic, Rhylee Rodebush is set to make an impact, both now and in the future.
