Kingfisher was a late add to the 2020 schedule. The Reds defeated the Yellowjackets 21-10 in the first meeting between the teams since the 2007 Class 3A state championship won by Clinton 21-16.
Clinton has won more playoff games (124) made more semifinals appearances (28) and finals appearances (17) than any other team in Oklahoma high school history.

OFFENSE
After making the 4A class title game a year ago, the Clinton Red Tornadoes are hungry to get back on the field. In his third year as a head coach, John Higbee and his team know they are more than capable of getting back to the championship game and know they can raise a gold ball. With plenty of experience returning on both sides of the ball, this Clinton football team has a lot of potential. Caden Powell (6-3, 215, Sr.) will line up at quarterback, a position he is very familiar with, starting there since his freshman year. “He is an outstanding competitor. Caden starts for us at both QB and LB. He is big, physical, and fast. He has a cannon for an arm which allows him to put the ball down the field when we need it,” coach Higbee said. People can expect for Powell to have a huge senior season. The offensive line returns some talent as well, in Ben Foster (6-3, 225, Sr.) and Tason Turney (6-1, 225, Sr.), who helped lead this team to the championship last season. A very talented receiving group are also expected to shine in 2021, after proving themselves the season before. Antonio Ceniceros (5-9, 160, Sr.) and Aaron Seabolt (5-8, 160, Sr.) will line up at wide receivers, while Bradon Snider (5-10, 190, Sr.) will play tight end. These three can expect to get a lot of touches with Powell at quarterback. The offense will play out of an I formation, playing very aggressive every snap.
DEFENSE
With a lot of familiar faces returning on defense, they expect the stifling defense from a year ago to improve even more. Last season they only gave up 14.5 points per game, one of the main reasons they made it so deep into the playoffs. Powell will line up on defense as well, playing linebacker, while Foster and Turney will play on the defensive line. Seabolt returns to the secondary. All the field experience on both offense and defense will give the Red Tornadoes a huge advantage compared to their opponents. Returning at the cornerback positions are Nate E. Jones (5-11, 170, Sr.) and Nate H. Jones (5-10, 165, Sr.). The defense may have lost a few starters after 2020, but there are high hopes that this defense can produce just as much success, possibly even more.
