OUTLOOK
The Clinton Lady Red Tornadoes are focused on growth and resilience as they look to build momentum for the 2025-26 season under head coach Eugene Jefferson, who continues to emphasize player development and team unity. “The Lady Reds look to continue to improve and build our program this upcoming season,” Jefferson said. “Our returning starters include sophomore Rhylee Rodebush, sophomore Arlena Kirkendoll, and junior Brook Aston, who is currently recovering from an offseason injury.”

Adding depth and experience to the roster is senior transfer Rylee Chagollia, whose leadership and versatility have already made an impression. “In addition to adding experience and leadership, she will also add another needed ball handler,” Jefferson said. Chagollia brings a strong two-way presence to the team. “She’s an impact player on both the defensive and offensive end of the court,” Jefferson said. “This summer she demonstrated the ability to score at all three levels against several top teams. She brings the same tenacity she has on the soccer field to the basketball court.”

One of the Lady Reds’ brightest young talents is Rhylee Rodebush (So.), who emerged as a key contributor last season. “Rhylee was the second leading scorer for us her freshman year,” said Jefferson. “She’s a strong inside presence that is not afraid of contact. Rhylee has worked hard this summer and offseason to improve her mid-range shot as well as handling the ball.” Jefferson added that Rodebush’s leadership stands out. “Although only a sophomore, she’s a natural leader that leads by example. She has a genuine love for the game and is often one of the first players on the court and the last to leave.”

Brooklyn Aston (Jr.) also brings high energy and reliability to the program. “Brooklyn is a 4.0 junior currently enrolled in concurrent classes at SWOSU,” Jefferson said. “She’s a high-energy, high-output player whose presence is felt whenever she’s in the gym. Brooklyn is a utility player that can play all five spots as needed and is a self-motivated competitor who takes pride in being the hardest worker on the court.”
With returning talent, new leadership, and a group of promising underclassmen, Jefferson sees the 2024-25 season as a major step forward.
